American Asians
In this work, I am capturing the culture of young Asian Americans and the newly created stereotypes within that culture. I am particularly looking at parts of Asian American culture that have strictly originated from Asian Americans, as opposed to traditional Asian culture. I explore the culture that has sprouted from young Asian Americans that has little to no connection to traditional Asian culture, but rather ideas that have grown and developed with further generations of Asian Americans. The ideas and culture I capture are very specific to the United States and don’t extend to Asian Culture that originates in Asian countries. These stereotypes extend from things that are very specific, ABG/ABB (Asian Baby Girl/Boy) culture, to ideas that are more generalized, like homosexual relationships in Asian Families.
